Annual Awards of Excellence
Nominate an Outstanding Member for Recognition
Members who are involved in the programs and services of BOMA Austin provide a substantial and positive impact on the association. With this in mind, the BOMA Austin Awards Committee developed a new Award program to honor those members who have contributed to our association and their profession. The awards recognize creativity, innovation and communication and the role these key attributes play in the success of organization and the real estate industry.
Below are the Award Categories with details. Individuals may nominate themselves, a co-worker, vendor, or anyone who is a member in good standing with BOMA Austin.
The award recognizes a property or facility manager who has demonstrated leadership in building operations and management. This may be exhibited through some of the following: exemplary leadership; teamwork with coworkers and vendors; implementation of environmental sustainability practices; achievement of LEED, BOMA 360 or Energy Star designations for their property; improvement in operational efficiency, tenant relations or best practices; and/or active involvement in BOMA Austin.
- Manages commercial, retail, industrial, flex medical, or any combination thereof, of space in the Austin market.
- Promotes BOMA Austin by supporting the association and by attending or sponsoring functions.
- Provides a high level of professionalism when dealing with tenants and/or employees of the buildings managed.
- Actively seeks BOMA Allied members for consideration on any contracts for the managed property.
- Is recognized by his/her peers for his/her integrity of business conduct.

The award recognizes an assistant property manager who has demonstrated leadership in building operations and management. Manages commercial, retail, industrial, flex medical, or any combination thereof, of space in the Austin market.
- Promotes BOMA Austin by supporting the association and by attending or sponsoring functions.
- Provides a high level of professionalism when dealing with tenants and/or employees of the buildings managed.
- Actively seeks BOMA Allied members for consideration on any contracts for the managed property.
- Is recognized by his/her peers for his/her integrity of business conduct.

The award is designed to recognize an engineer who has provided innovative ideas to their building/facility in saving energy, time and/or money. Award nominees will be evaluated on job performance, ethics, credibility, professionalism, community service, team building, industry training, and support of BOMA Austin. A letter of support from the nominee’s direct supervisor is required.
- Building engineer for commercial, retail, industrial, flex, medical, or any combination thereof, of space in the Austin market.
- Provides a high level of professionalism when dealing with tenants and/or employees of the buildings managed.
- Maintains the building to the highest level and in association with BOMA TOBY guidelines.
- Actively seeks BOMA associate members for consideration on any contracts for the managed property.
- Is recognized by his/her peers for his/her integrity of business conduct.

The award is presented to an individual in any category of membership who has been active in BOMA Austin for four years or less and has demonstrated excellence in serving the commercial real estate industry in their area of expertise.
- The award is intended to recognize and encourage individuals who are still early in their career.
- A letter of support from the nominee’s direct supervisor is required.
- Individuals may receive this award only once.

The award may be presented to any allied member and recognizes outstanding achievements or contributions to BOMA Austin.
- Able to demonstrate the highest quality and integrity within their specific industry.
- Promotes BOMA Austin by supporting the association by attending or sponsoring functions.
- Provides a high level of professionalism when dealing with clients, other BOMA members, and the commercial real estate community.

This award is given at the discretion of the BOMA President to a deserving BOMA Austin member or staff member who has served beyond the call of duty.

Specific Nomination Information: The president can select whomever he/she wants.
This award is in remembrance of Jack Drummond and Karisa Johnson, who both left an indelible mark on BOMA Austin through their steadfast commitment and care. Their work has contributed to a flourishing commercial real estate market and a culture of BOMA members serving our clients and the community well.
The Drummond-Johnson Award honors years of service through demonstrated advocacy at both city hall and in the boardroom with remarkable character and dedication.
Representing one’s tireless efforts in service to BOMA Austin, this lifetime achievement award is given to an Austin member or staff member who has been active for a minimum of 15 years.
